South by Southwest (SXSW) is where freethinkers, innovators, and all-out game changers come together to learn from one another and create something greater. As a creative digital consultancy with a transformational vision for the future, Deloitte Digital is a natural fit as a Major Sponsor for SXSW Interactive. This year, Deloitte Digital has put together an incredible lineup of programming, panels, and parties for you to enjoy as we unveil our vision for the future of interactive:
Play the #ARC Inside Deloitte Digital’s Interplay Lab (Friday, March 11 & Saturday, March 12)
Stop by our interactive music lab, an immersive concert-meets-lab environment. Just as we think years into the future for our clients, the lab explores the future of interaction — above and beyond the use of touch screens and through the medium of music.
Standing side-by-side with indie artists Baio, Oberhofer, and Grammy-nominated RAC, SXSW attendees will have the opportunity to record music on the ARC (Audience Reactive Composition). This instrument is a custom-built, technological masterpiece. The best part is that it’s 100% interactive. No screens – just physical and playable objects in a 20 speaker surround system.
#ARCAfterDark Deloitte Digital SXSW Interactive Parties (Friday, March 11 & Saturday, March 12)
On Friday and Saturday nights, we power down the #ARC (Audience Reactive Composition) and open up the Palm Door on 6th St. for #ARCafterDark. Join us for live music all night and free drinks. SXSW Panel: Modern Slavery in the 21st Century with Nes Parker (Monday, March 14)
Consider your smartphone or wardrobe, ever wonder who was involved in the process of making them? Both elusive and resilient, modern slavery traverses a number of sectors and has emerged as the fastest growing illicit industry, generating an estimated $150 billion in profits each year. Between 21 and 36 million individuals worldwide are now considered to be “modern slaves.” How did we get here, and what is being done to help the millions affected? This panel will be co-hosted by Deloitte Consulting LLP manager Nes Parker and Maurice Middleberg, Executive Director of Free the Slaves. Register for the session: March 14, 11am – noon.
SXSW Panel: Thriving on Disruption: Recognize and Capitalize (Tuesday, March 15)
For the fifth consecutive year, John Hagel, co-chairman of the Deloitte Center for the Edge, is speaking at SXSW; this time on the topic of Thriving on Disruption: Recognize and Capitalize. Hagel’s talk will focus on patterns of disruption. Different from the one-off stories of disruption that we tend to hear, this session will focus on identifying the characteristics of markets that could make them vulnerable to a particular pattern of disruption. Hagel will also be signing copies of his book “The Power of Pull” immediately following his session at the SX bookstore. Register for the session: March 15, 11 a.m– noon.
